Monica Mosqueda

Certified Professional Dog Trainer

scan0001.jpg

Monica is a certified professional dog trainer. Successful performance of AKC, VDH, and NNDDA training degrees are required for certification. She has succeeded in extensive training to train dogs in obedience, search & rescue, protection, Schutzhund, agility, narcotics and much more. She has obtained all phases and levels of dog training under some of the top trainers in the world and is very committed to the safe, humane and proper training and care of the canine.

She currently has a working dog in search and rescue and can train dogs for any scent discrimination. A second dog is a pet trained in advanced AKC obedience, schutzhund, agility, service, and scent discrimination.  She belongs to the local Search and Rescue club and is a frequent guest speaker at local veterinary clinics and animal shelters.

It all begins at home. She trains dogs, but mostly pet owners to keep a well-mannered dog in their home. She is an activist for the shelters and humane societies in the area and trains workers and new dog owners in the hopes that dogs will not be returned to the shelter due to behavior problems that could have been corrected or prevented.

Making the canine and the owner compatible is the ultimate goal.

Monica has spent her whole life studying and learning about the K-9. She has spent the past five years serving North Idaho in teaching others.

Although dogs are Monica’s first love, she also enjoys amateur photography. Her picture titled, “Eyes” is published in the International Library of Photography book, “Timeless Journey” at: http://www.picture.com/display.asp?ID=1407660

She enjoys art: painting, drawing sculpting and crafts.  Martial Arts is a hobby, which she has been studying since she was a small child.  She also enjoys all outdoor activities.

Monica is an active member of the following Search and Rescue groups in the area:

  1. Kootenai County Search and Rescue
  2. MountainWest Rescue Dogs
  3. Priest Lake Search and Rescue
  4. North Idaho Trackers
